Vol. 39 in the British "Early Reader Series" published in the 1950s-1960s. No publication date, but c. 1955 per publisher; gift inscription from 1961 on ffep. Cover illustration on the hardcover book (which is in Good+ condition) matches DJ: very clean & bright, with bumping & some tearing along bottom edges. Pages show tanning appropriate to age. Old gift inscription, else unmarked. Unclipped DJ is downgraded to Good- due to a big chip out of upper-outer front corner & 2 similar chips on rear; minor edgewear all around.
