Noted Texan poet & journalist (1879-1949) offers a comprehensive sampling of verse by poets from his own state, both living & dead. Hardcover in 207 pages with an Index of Authors, Title, & Biographical Notes in rear. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1923, this is a presentation copy, with a personalized inscription SIGNED by the AUTHOR on the ffep from 1923. With green cloth-covered boards with white lettering & design to cover/spine, this book is in solidly Good+ condition: very clean, binding secure & straight, but front endpaper has a 2" tear, exposing a bit of the underlying webbing. Pages creamy white, with a hint of tanning around edges. There is HEAVY tanning from where some old newspaper clippings were inserted into the text; a clipping from 1933 Dallas Morning News is laid in in an envelope. NO writing, underlining, or highlighting; NOT ex-lib. Corners very slightly bumped. NO DJ. Please see our photos--they show the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand! Photos & description property of Gargoyle Books. Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific time); weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
