R. Caldecott's Second Collection of Pictures and Songs

Companion to the "First Collection,'' this book contains 9 additional nursery rhymes both written & illustrated by celebrated British artist Caldecott (1846-1946). Probable First Edition, first printing, c. 1900 (no date in book). This is a likely ex-lib copy as 1) DJ is taped to book, 2) rear endpaper is missing--perhaps where card pocket was, 3) remains of a sticker to lower spine; no other marks. Oblong hardcover has decorative cloth-covered boards, nicely protected by the DJ. There is a slight dampstain to bottom edge of front cover & ffep; does not affect interior, which is very clean. Binding strong & straight, pages slightly off-white & unmarked. Slight old-book odor. The unclipped DJ shows virtually NO edgewear, but downgraded due to light soiling.
