The long-beloved classic tale of a girlhood growing up in Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, New York, in the 1940s, based on the author's own life. Orig. published in 1943, this is a reprint edition from Blakiston, unabridged, with the exact same DJ design as the First Edition, with Buy War Bonds slug on back cover; no price on DJ, so may be BCE, but colors are different than others we have sold (gray vs blue). Hardcover book has deep blue cloth-over-boards with yellow lettering to spine. Condition is Good+: generally very clean, with light foxing to top outside page edges only. Bumping to corners & both ends of spine. Interior is very clean, binding strong & straight; pages just slightly off-white. Former owner's bookplate inside front cover.The unclipped DJ is colorful , but downgraded to Poor since it's missing a large middle chunk out the spine & has many taped repairs, heavy edgewear.
