Fifth book in the last of the four early-20th-century series featuring adventuresome young Grace Harlowe & her friends as they went from high school to college, overseas to Europe, &, in this final series, back to the US for some adventures on horseback around the country. Orig. published in 1923, this is one of the reprint editions from Saalfield, in 251 pages with frontispiece & 3 internal illustrations, AND its original DJ! With deep burgundy-brown cloth-covered boards embossed with a black design & lettering, this book is in VG- (minus) condition: generally very clean, with some lighter rubbed areas to both boards. Binding straight & strong, but rear hinge is cracked. Pages are heavily tanned, commensurate with age & paper quality, but unmarked. Corners slightly bumped. The unclipped DJ is vividly colored, with NO fading, but downgraded to VG-/G+ due to mild-moderate edgewear all around, including a few small chips & shallow creases.
