Collection of 27 very short fairy tales in verse form from the beloved writer known as the "Children's Poet" or "Hoosier Poet." In 96 pages, charmingly illustrated by Will Vawter. Orig. published by the author 1887-1907, this is the First Edition collected in this format from 1923 (First, Thus). Hardcover book has blue cloth-covered boards & a colorful front paper pastedown with faded gilt lettering & design to front, black letters to spine. Condition is Fair-Poor due to water damage, which has stained & spotted good portion of the lower extremities; the paper pastedown is unblemished, as are the majority of the lovely illustrations within, though faint dampstains ascend up to about mid-way on nearly all pages.
