The classic meditation on Death & Nature, written when the author was only 17 years old, brought to life with the delicate lithographed drawings of Pauline French in this lovely small-press edition, limited to 1000 copies (of which this is #696) from 1947. Foreword, unpaginated. Stitched binding, which is loosening at hinges, with some tearing to paper around string holes, but remains intact. Half brown cloth-covered boards with lighter peach paper covering, gilt lettering to front cover; no DJ, likely as issued. Condition is Near Fine: completely clean & crisp, pages creamy white & unmarked. Slight paper loss in some rubbed spots on front board.
