A true FIRST EDITION, first printing (with the requisite "A") from 19387, this hardcover has matte black cloth-covered boards with green design & lettering to front & spine. Map endpapers, 391 pages. Condition is just Fair, downgraded due to paper residue on front cover & missing cloth up in top outer corner of same. Interior is quite clean, with moderate tanning, heavier around all page edges & to endpapers. Both hinges cracked, but text block secure. Heavy pen notations/numbers on verso of ffep & a few on half title page; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib. Missing DJ.
