Written in 1941 but not published due to paper shortages & the book's strong antiwar sentiments, unpopular during WWII, this book represents White's intended conclusion to "The Once and Future King'' (1958), revealing what befell King Arthur, Guenever, Sir Lancelot, & the wizard Merlyn. Discovered in the archives at the University of Texas, this is its first time in print. A Prologue by White's major biographer Sylvia Townsend Warner explains the book's history. In 137 pages, with pen-and-ink drawings throughout text by Trevor Stubley. This is a Book Club Edition from 1977. Hardcover book has light brown cloth-covered boards with black lettering to spine. It is in Fine condition: completely clean, binding tight & square, pages white, NO writing/underlining/highlighting; NOT ex-lib. Only flaw is former owner's stamp inside front cover. The unclipped DJ is VG+, downgraded only due to very mild rubbing to extremities, a few tiny chips, & an area of sticker pull at head ot spine.
