Book #5 in the 8-volume boys' adventure series written during & set in World War II by a real aviator author who had served with the Royal Flying Corps. The series featuring the heroic pilot Lucky Terrell & his crack fighting team as they engage in air battles against the Japanese enemy. In 210 pages, with decorative endpapers & internal illustrations by Frank Dobias. A FIRST EDITION, first printing, listing to book #4 on rear DJ (with summary on rear flap), self-summary on front flap. Hardcover has bright green cloth over boards with a black plane design & lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG+: extremely clean, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages moderately tanned, especially around edges, commensurate with wartime paper quality (notice on title page), but unmarked. Only flaws are bumping to all corners & mild rubbing to extremities. The unclipped DJ is just Good, with chipping to corners & both ends of spine, with a large missing section (obliterating entire title & most of author's name) at top of spine; rubbing to all extremities. Else, bright, clean, & colorful, with NO fading; nicely protected in new mylar cover free! Our photos depict the EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
