One in a series of books from Goldsmith Publishing of mystery/detective/adventure books written in the 1940s-1940s for and about the "red-blooded boys/adventurous youth of today." This one features Slim Evans & chuck Meade, young "cowboy detectives" working for the Cattlemen's Association. An apparent First Edition, first printing from 1934, this hardcover book has blue-green cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering & front & spine. Condition is VG-: very clean, binding straight & text block secure, but front hinge is just starting to crack. Pages moderately tanned, heavily around edges, commensurate with age & paper quality; top outside edges are foxed. Old gift inscription dated 1943 on ffep, else unmarked. Rubbing/discoloration around edges & slightly bumped corners are only other flaws. The colorful DJ is downgraded to only Good+ due to a largish chip to top of front cover near spine, lighter rubbing/small chips around edges. Nicely protected in new mylar cover Free! Our photos depict the EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
