Vol.#2 in the second Tom Swift series, which was comprised of 33 volumes written under the pseudonym Victor Appleton II. Originally published in 1954, this book is one of the original blue tweed cloth-covered books with wrap-around pictorial DJs, so it is a First Edition, but later printing, listing to TS#16 in front matter, #15 on rear flap, HB #39 on back DJ cover. In 208 pages with a plain frontispiece & blue/white endpapers by illustrator Graham Kaye. Book condition is VG: very clean, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages creamy white with very mild tanning/dust dulling to outside edges, but unmarked. Very mild rubbing to extremities & bumped corners. The unclipped DJ is only Good: bright & colorful, with moderate edgewear all around, heaviest at both ends of spine, missing nearly 2" from head.
