Monograph reproduction of an article that originally appeared in the American Journal of Insanity for April 1881, published quarterly at the State Lunatic Asylum in Utica, New York. This was an early effort by medical doctors to describe physiological changes in the brains of those afflicted with insanity, based on autopsy findings. The author was a speech pathologist at the asylum & on the editorial board of the journal. No publication date in book. In 32 pages with one full-page illustration. Softcover in light gray-green wrappers, sewn binding. Condition is VG-/G+: very clean inside, though slight darkening, small chips & short tears mar the exterior. Stitched binding is strong & secure.
