Book #5 in the Judy Bolton YA mystery series. First published in 1933, this is a much later printing from the mid-1950s (though no list of other titles in book). In the wrap-style DJ with the rust tweed cloth-covered boards & "haunted house" endpapers by Pelagie Doane (unattributed), this hardcover has 217 pages, no frontis or internal illustrations. Condition is Good: generally quite clean with dust dulling to exterior page edges. Binding is strong & square, hinges intact. Pages modestly tanned, commensurate with age. Pencil scribbling to ffep; NO other writing/highlighting/underlining; not ex-lib. Mild rubbing to extremities & corner bumping is only other flaw. The unclipped DJ (listing to JB#23 on front flap, ND#29 on back flap, BG#20 on back cover) is downgraded to only Fair due to old repair with clear tape (now somewhat yellowed) along spine & another tear ascending from bottom edge of front cover about halfway up. Else, quite colorful & bright with minor edgewear, including small chips; no fading. Nicely protected in new mylar cover FREE!
