Orig. published in 1947 & never out of print, this is the First Softcover Edition, third printing, from 1972; In 173 pages, + a map of Chincoteague Island on the last page. Lovely pen & ink drawings throughout by Wesley Dennis, who also did the iconic cover design. Trade paperback is in VG+ condition: very clean, binding straight & strong, NO writing/ underlining/highlighting except for some small check marks in pen by other titles in front matter. Only flaws are 1) modest edgewear all around, 2) mild tanning to all page edges & dust dulling to outside edges.
