The author, a surgeon to the Glasgow Eye Infirmary, offers this collection of 5 articles that originally appeared in the Lancet, collected here in book form for the first time in 1900. Variations of letter-, word-, & mind-blindness are examined, singularly & manifested together, with or without the presence of dyslexia. Fine example of early research on the brain & language. In 88 pages + 16 pages of other books by this publisher in rear. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, this slim hardcover book has red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to front & spine (totally faded here). Condition is Good+: very clean inside. Former owner's name in pen on title page, else completely unmarked. Stitched binding is secure, but a little shaky, & hinges are beginning to crack. Front endpapers are torn at binding in center. Pages are modestly tanned around edges. Exterior boards show pen scribbling & staining, fraying at both ends of spine & heavy spine fade. Our photos depict he EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
