One of a lovely series of classic books for young readers illustrated by famous artists of the day, this one by Edmund Dulac, who provided art for the front pastedown, frontispiece, 7 internal illustrations, all of them full-page, full color; artist Manning V. de Lee provided other scattered pen-and-ink drawings & designs throughout the text. This is the First Edition in this format (First, thus) from Garden City Publishing, c. early 20th century (no date in book), in 287 pages. Hardcover book has green cloth-covered boards with a colorful front paper paste-down & lighter green lettering to spine. Condition is just Good: heavy edgewear & rubbing to extremities, down to underlying boards at corners. Some rubbing to front pastedown, cloth fraying along spine. Internally the book is clean with the occasional spot, smudge, & foxing; all illustrations have very mild foxing to outer margin.
