One of a lovely series of classic literary books for young readers illustrated by famous artists of the day, this one by Noel Pocock (frontispiece + 7 internal full-color plates) & D. Cammerota (endpapers, front pastedown). From a story by DeFoe originally published in 1719, this is the First Edition in this format with these illustrations (First, thus) from Garden City Publishing, Inc, c. early 20th century (no date in book), in 352 pages. Hardcover book has light gold-colored cloth-covered boards with a brilliantly colored front paper paste-down & lighter green lettering/figure stamped to spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, colors vivid & crisp, binding strong & straight, both hinges secure. Former owner's name & 1934 date inside front cover NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib. Pages moderately tanned, heavier around edges, & there is light random foxing pretty much contained to front matter, though a spot or two does show up on some pages/plates. Very minimal rubbing to both ends of spine, with some fraying of cloth. A truly collectible copy! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive from us, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 p.m. Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
