Illustrated throughout the 226 pages with over 150 pen-and-ink sketches & black-and-white photographs by the author. Orig. published in 1913, this is a reprint from Grosset & Dunlap. Hardcover book has deep green cloth-covered boards with gilt design & lettering (by the author's wife & travel companion) to front & spine. Condition is Good+: generally very clean with exterior surface soiling, sunned spine. Text block strong, hinges secure, but cracked at second page. Rubbing to extremities, heavier at both ends of spine & all corners, which show fraying & slight cloth loss at head of spine. Interior is very clean, with moderate tanning to all pages, heavier around edges. Old gift inscription dated 1939 in front matter.
