Bragg, with charming illustrations in both duotone & full color by acclaimed children's book artist Lois Lenski. A FIRST EDITION, first printing in this format from 1934, showing itself last in the list of other titles in P&M's "Never Grow Old Series" edited by Piper, & with No. 358 to front pastedown. NO DJ, but the book is in stunning, Near Fine condition, with red cloth-covered boards & a colorful front paper pastedown, which shows just slight rubbing & very light soil. Slight rubbing & bumping to corners & both ends of spine. Interior pages are starkly white, colors bright, with a bit of a red dye transfer from title page to frontispiece. Sewn binding strong & straight; no tears or loosening of thread. Tiny nick to outer long edge of rear endpaper. A beauty!
