Illustrated on nearly every page with soft duotone sketches by Wesley Dennis, best known for his illustrations for the "Misty of Chincoteague" books. 56 pages. A FIRST EDITION, second ("B") printing, from Dec. 1958, this small 8vo (6.25" x 8.25") has orange-red cloth covered boards stamped with a black horse design & black lettering to front/spine. Condition is Near Fine, marred only by mild bumping to both ends of spine & some corners, with very slight fraying. Else, completely clean, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with a whisper of tanning. The unclipped DJ with orig. $2.50 price intact to front flap is also Near Fine, missing 1/2" of paper at base of spine; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free!
