Scarce community cook book named for the famous "Gray Castle" Gothic Revival building that comprised San Diego High School, 1906-1970, when it was razed so new earthquake buildings could be erected. This book of recipes, including international cuisine, was compiled 1933/34 under the administration of Mrs. Fred D. Bethard as president of the San Diego PTA. In 125 pages + numerous blank pages in rear, including scattered advertisements from local San Diego businesses. A FIRST EDITION, first printing, this spiral-bound softcover has decorative light blue wrappers lettered in darker blue to front cover. Condition is Near Fine: appears never used! Completely clean, binding intact, all pages secure & slightly off-white with mild tanning, slight dust dulling to outside edges.
