Early 20th-century western set among the Blackfeet tribe of Native American Indians, of whom the author was a noted historian & had previously traded furs with at his trading post when he lived in Montana among th Pikuni tribe. In 235 pages with a glossy frontispiece + 3 internal plates by illustrator Rodney Thomas. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1928, this small 8vo (5.25" x 7.5") has deep brown cloth over boards with a stamped design & lettering to front & spine in orange. Condition is VG-: generally very clean, but with heavy spotting & foxing. Binding strong & straight, pages moderately tanned, heavier to edges, commensurate with age. Spotting to top outside page edges. Mild rubbing to extremities, heavier at all corner & spine tips, with very slight cloth loss & fraying. No DJ.
