Stories from the Arabian Nights

Collection of 6 favorite tales, each with multiple full-color plates by illustrator Edmund Dulac (1882-1953). Of the 24 original plates (including the frontispiece), 2 are missing & 1 is completely loose, with wear to the outer page edges. All 22 that are present are lovely: bright colors, each with its protective tissue guard intact. A few have a smudge or foxing in the margins, but most are pristine! First published in this format by Hodder & Stoughton in 1907, this is a 1911 printing of that edition (not the later Boots reprint). Small octavo with olive green cloth over boards, with a lovely gilt/burgundy design & a paper pastedown illustration by Dulac inside gilt borders to front & gilt script lettering to spine. Condition is VG+: very clean & bright, sewn binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages modestly tanned. Slight spine darkening, a few external rubbed spots. Former owner's name to ffep.
