This is a novel in verse form about an American woman who marries an Englishman & loses him in WWI, then has to face new perils with her newborn son & mother-in-law. "Signed" by the author, but actually "alias, Ruth Fiske" to a Peg Brackenbury on Jan. 25th 1943 (at which date the actual author was deceased). Orig. published in 1940, this is the 21st printing of that First Edition from 1941. In deep blue publisher's cloth blindstamped with the title to front board & lettered in bright white to spine, this hardcover 12mo is in Near Fine condition: very clean & bright, binding straight & strong, pages lightly tanned, heavier around edges. Slight rubbing to lower extremities & corners. The price-clipped DJ is VG-, with rubbing along spine & flap edged; nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
