Another in a series of educational books for very young children both written & illustrated by this award-winning husband-and-wife artistic team. A FIRST EDITION, first printing, from 1933, this square small octavo has bright yellow cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering with a colorful paper pastedown of a woman at a spinning wheel to front board. Unpaginated. Condition is VG+: exceptionally clean & bright & unmarked, sewn binding straight & strong, hinges secure, pages creamy white with modest tanning, heavier around edges. Slight rubbing to extremities & bumping to corners & spine tips. The unclipped DJ (featuring a very stereotypically racist representation of black field hands picking cotton, with a black child hugging a basket of cotton in center) is just Good: images are bright & colorful & unflawed, but all corners & spine tips show chipping, with heavy rubbing to extremities; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received Weekdays by 2 pm (PST); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
