Orig. appearing in Essence magazine, this is the FIRST EDITION, First Printing, in book form from Anchor, 1978 (please note: other publishers are reprints). Hardcover 8vo has a black cloth wrapped spine, lettered in bright gilt, with brown paper over the remaining boards. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright save for small coffee-colored smudge to fore edge side of 10 pages in one chapter. Binding strong & straight, pages creamy white & unmarked with a hint of tanning & a little roughness/tiny chips to fore edge.
