Winner of the 1950 Newberry award, it has 112 pages with the author's stunning duotone lithographs throughout & on endpapers. With soft blue cloth-covered boards pictorially stamped in silver to front & titled in same to spine, this hardcover 8vo is in VG+ condition: exceptionally clean, binding tight & square, pages creamy white & unmarked save for old gift inscription in pencil dated 1950 to half title page, which we have left intact. Colors on plates are bright, margins flawless. Minor rubbing to extremities, pushing to spine tips, bumped corners. No DJ (missing).
