This one is about a snapping turtle named Minn who lives in the Mississippi River, based on extensive research & observation & interviews with locals. In 87 pages with pen-and-ink drawings & many full-color, full-page plates throughout. A FIRST EDITION, first printing, from 1951, this hardcover 4to has yellow cloth-covered boards with stamped green lettering & images to front cover & spine. Condition is Good: external soil & rather heavy rubbing to extremities, cloth fraying, tiny chips & small sections of missing cloth along spine. Aside from previous child owners' names inside front cover, the interior is clean & unmarked, with the occasional spot or smudge. Pages modestly tanned, heavier around edges. NO DJ.
