A guide issued by the Southern Pacific line of steamships to entice travelers to board one of their ships for "a hundred glorious hours at seas" as it journeyed from New York to New Orleans ("the Paris of America") during the 1908/09 season. The many attraction of New Orleans, especially as a winter travel destination, are described & illustrated with many duotone photos throughout the 60 pages of text (great photo of "Gay Maskers on Mardi Gras Day" 1909!). Two unpaginated pages in the rear list travel agents & how a map. Small 24mo (4.5" x 6") pamphlet in blue & gray decorative wrappers is in VG-/Good+ condition: stitched binding secure, generally clean with some foxing & light soil. Former owner's name in pencil to ffep, else unmarked (some erased pencil marks on about 6 pages).Both front & back cover are starting to tear at heel of spine, with paper loss of about 1/2" there & splitting up about 2" along spine-front cover interface. A tad of diagonal creasing to lower-outer back cover. Nicely protected in clear mylar collector bag free!
