A different cultural take on traditional Mother Goose rhymes, drawing on local Hawaiian culture & the legendary folktales & poetry of Tuto Nene. This is an original A FIRST EDITION, first printing, from 1944 (not the recent update!). Hardcover 4to (9" x 12.25") has brown & cream paper-covered boards decorated with woodcut-like illustrations by Ethelyn Myhre to front cover & on nearly every page inside. [6] +48 +[2] pages. Condition is VG: exceptionally clean & bright, pages creamy white & completely unmarked. The binding--stitched with twine or reed--is straight & secure. Modest rubbing to extremities, heavier along bottom edges (very slight paper loss to heel of spine), & slightly bumped corners. No DJ, but nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free! Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, Weekends, & holidays ship very next business day. SORRY: book is too large for expedited domestic or any international shipping without preapproval of extra postage (at least double per USPS rates).
