Well-researched & thoroughly documented portrait of Adolf Hitler's downfall, capturing his inner & outer turmoil in the days leading up to his suicide in his Berlin bunker in April 1945. In 254 pages with Index, Notes, Appendix, map endpapers, illustrations of bunker & "Political Testament," glossy photo frontispiece (which shows foxing to rear). Originally published in 1947 by Macmillan, this is a Book Club Edition (with red embossed dot to rear board), in black cloth-covered boards with red lettering & ruling to spine. Condition is VG- (minus): completely clean inside, but minor rubbing & light spotting to both boards. Binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with edge tanning, but completely unmarked.
