Collection of 14 of Andersen's fanciful tales, including both well0loved & lesser0known stories, in this British edition from the early 20th century (no date in book) lavishly illustrated throughout with full-& half-page line drawings, a colorful frontispiece, + 3 full-color plates by an artist identified only as "Holmes." In 144 pages. Dull red cloth-covered boards with front & rear paper paste downs, the front one featuring elfin creatures in full color. Condition is just Fair, as many of the line drawings inside have been colored with crayon. Three out of four of the color plates are completely clean with white margins; the other has a few soiled spots to lower margin. Colors vivid. Pages tanned & a bit fragile. Heavy rubbing to extremities, with wear down to underlying boards at all corners. Still a uniquely illustrated edition & fully readable!
