Story Book (Children's Stories)

Collection of 24 relatively unknown children's stories with lots of fairytale elements, beautifully illustrated throughout the 248 pages of text (along with the endpapers & front pastedown) by the author, a British illustrator best known for her nostalgic depictions of children. No Date in book, but research locates it c. 1930s. Hardcover 8vo has front paper paste down over yellow cloth-covered boards, lettered in black to spine. Condition downgraded to Fair due to exterior roughness: spine cloth is splitting, exposing underlying webbing. Light soil & heavy edgewear to both front & rear board, heavily bumped corners. BUT, the interior stories & illustrations are lovely & unmarked, borders on all the plates are white with mild tanning. All pages heavily tanned, but supple.
