Conducted by the National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse, launched under the Nixon Administration's "War on Drugs,'' it assembled information from over 50 studies & reports conducted worldwide, hoping to examine the use of the drug as is shifted from being a "protest symbol of the young" to its spread among "the Establishment'' & in the process exploding outdated myths & challenging misconceptions. Called the Shafer Report, this is the First Printing of this report for the general public in a mass market paperback format from Signet (Y5218) from March 1972, in 233 pages. Condition is VG: very clean with tanning to covers & all pages, unmarked save for former owner's name in red pen to first page (his business card also laid in, showing he was a staff member at the University of California, San Francisco). Mild-moderate rubbing to extremities & light creasing to some corners; 1 heavier vertical crease to back cover. Nicely protected in new clear mylar collector bag free!
