One of a popular British series of 15 full-length books for YA readers (following some short stories) about a group of 7 young detectives (& their dog, Scamper), who were modeled after Blyton's publisher's son & his friends. Orig. published 1969-1962, the series was taken up by a French author in the 1970s-1980s, followed by 2 new books in 2018/19, a stage adaptation & a radio drama. This title was book #2, orig. published in 1950; this is the 12th impression (printing) of that FIRST EDITION from 1967. With blue decorative cloth over boards lettered in darker blue to spine, this hardcover has 126 pages, with pen-and-ink illustrations throughout by George Brook. Condition is Good: generally quite clean, but with faint smudges & foxing. Pages creamy white with moderate tanning, unmarked save for former owner's name & other writing to ffep. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, corners slightly bumped, spots of dampstaining to both boards, not impacting interior. The unclipped DJ is VG- (minus), with slight rubbing to extremities & mild chipping & creasing; nicely protected by former owner in clear nonreflective mylar cover.
