First published in 1950 this is a 5th printing from 1954 in the hardcover editions with red cloth-covered boards lettered in black to front & spine. Decorative endpapers, frontispiece, & internal illustrations throughout by Eileen Soper. In 192 pages + ad in front for the Famous Five Club that kids could join. Condition is VG: generally very clean with some random spots & soil, primarily to exterior page edges. Interior pages creamy white with moderate tanning, completely unmarked save for a bit of foxing in front matter. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure, corners lightly bumped.
