Scarce First DJ Cover Art! Orig. published in 1931, this is the first Modern Library edition (#61) from 1932 (slightly later printing, listing 225 titles on rear DJ), with a special Introduction by the author, in 380 pages. Hardcover 12mo has flexible soft blue cloth-covered boards, stamped with the ML symbol in gilt to front & lettered in gilt (which is somewhat faded) to spine. Condition is Near Fine: completely clean & crisp, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white & completely unmarked, with a tiny bit of dogearing to a few at top outer corner. Blue top stain is bright. Corners slightly bumped. The price-clipped DJ, with stunning woodcut cover art in tones of purple/gray/black by Burch (the only ML title he ever did), is VG, with very mild chipping & a few short, unclosed tears; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received Weekdays by 2 pm (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
