Strongly anti-war, it was also named "Most Original Book" when it was first published in 1939; this is the Fifth Printing of that FIRST EDITION from the same year. Octavo, 309 pp. Red cloth-covered boards (the first printing was in yellow) with black lettering to front & spine. Condition is VG: generally quite clean with light stain to top outside page edges that does not affect interior, dust dulling to fore edge, a couple of tiny spots to both boards. Mild rubbing to extremities & corner bumping. Binding strong & straight, split at gutter by half-title page, both hinges secure.
