Lovely little book to help children learn to count from 1-20, with vintage watercolor illustrations & pen-and-ink sketches throughout by author/illustrator Tasha Tudor. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1956 ( we are also offering reprints; please see our listing #018373 & 122050), this oblong 12mo (7" x 9") has soft pink cloth-covered boards stamped with a delicate gray sketch of a mouse to front/gray lettering to spine. Unpaginated (approx 48 pages). Condition is VG: generally quite clean inside, but with fading & light soil to exterior. Cloth at top inner corner near head of spine is thinning slightly. Former owner's name , date (Christmas 1956) & initials to front endpapers, else, completely unmarked. Stitched binding is secure, but loosening. No DJ (missing).
