Vintage collection of 29 traditional & lesser-known Christmas carols, vividly illustrated in both full-color, full-page plates & smaller pen-and-ink sketches by Swedish-American artist Gustaf Tenggren. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1943, this quarto (8.75" x 12") has brightly decorated paper over red cloth-covered boards. 127 pp. Condition is downgraded to Good due to overall signs of use: random smudges, old tape marks, stamps from a school in front & rear, light soil, rubbing to extremities, fraying to cloth at both ends of spine. Binding is secure, but rather stiff, having been cracked & repaired long ago with white tape (front hinge), clear tape (now heavily yellowed) in rear. No DJ (missing).
