Never out of print since its initial publication in 1958, this charming little book celebrates the joys of friendship in a collection of inspirational verse & enchanting drawings by the author/illustrator who created the children with no mouths. This was her First Book, & she would go on to write 94 more! This is a slightly later printing of that FIRST EDITION, with only the initial 1958 date, but list of other (later) titles i front matter). Slim, unpaginated 16mo has light green cloth-covered boards decorated with a design in brown on front cover/brown lettering to spine. Condition is Near Fine: completely clean & bright, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white with a whisper of tanning, but unmarked. Two tiny pieces of tap residue to rear free end paper is only flaw. The price-clipped DJ is also Near Fine, with just a hint of rubbing; beautifully protected in new mylar cover to stay that way (removed for photo accuracy).
