First published in 1957, this is a very early printing (listing to JB#30 in front matter & front DJ flap) of that First Edition, a 12mo in its original wrap DJ with the rust tweed cloth-covered boards & "haunted house" endpapers! In 180 pages, plain frontispiece by Pelagie Doane (unattributed). An Ex-Lib copy with card pocket in rear & small stamps scattered in front & rear, condition is Good: light soil to outside page edges, internally clean with some random smudges. Binding strong with a slight rightward slant, hinges secure. Pages unmarked. Mild rubbing to extremities & corner bumping, old tape marks to both front & rear boards from where DJ was attached. The unclipped DJ is also Good: bright & colorful, but significantly rubbed to extremities, with creasing, small chips, remnants of paper call letter to lower spine; nicely protected in new mylar cover FREE!Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
