Continues the author's charming series of children's books about the little African-American boy Peter, who was first introduced in 1963 in the Caldecott-award-winning, "A Snowy Day," which was the first book that Keats had both written & illustrated. Though the pages in the front matter (title & copyright pages) has been torn out, likely to remove old library stamps/card pocket, this is a FIRST EDITION, unknown printing, from MacMillan, 1970, not the later reprint (which we are also offering; see our listing #022213). Oblong small 8vo (9.25" x 8.25") has glossy decorative paper over boards with a design matched on the accompanying DJ. Condition is Good: bright & clean & crisp, unmarked, but missing those pages in front matter. The unclipped DJ, glued inside both covers by the library, has been carefully removed, cleaned, call number removed from base of spine, replaced with brand New mylar cover free! Only paper residue remains of old mylar inside both covers. Our photos show the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand. Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
