Enchanting vintage boxed hardcover set from 1968 contains 4 tales, each taken from the original "Winnie the Pooh" book of 1926 (illustrations, 1928): 1) Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting and Nearly Catch a Woozie"; 2) "Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One"; 3) Pooh Hears a Buzzing Noise and Meets Some Bees"; & 4) "Pooh Goes a Visiting and Gets into a tight Place." These were created by the author's wife (& the real Christopher Robin's mother), Dorothy Daphne Milne, & Spencer Curtis Brown, keeping the original illustrations of Ernest H. Shepard. Each tiny hardcover book (2.75" x 3.75") has honey-gold cloth-covered boards stamped with a character's picture to front in black/black lettering to spine. Each is about 47 pages & is in Fine condition: exceptionally clean & bright, pages white & unmarked, colors vivid, bindings secure. Each has its original DJ, which range in condition from Fine (virtually flawless) to VG- (a few short tears, edgewear). Colors bright. the box itself is Good: solid & secure, but heavily rubbed to extremities, especially around opening. A lovely set!
