Each tale included a Preface by Cooper Edens describing its history & different renditions across time & cultures. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1991, in 172 pages with List of Illustrators in rear. Quarto (8.5" x 11.5"), with light green paper over quarter darker green cloth-covered boards, lettered in bright gilt to spine. An EX-LIB copy, with the usual stamps & markings & card pocket, light soil to fore edge. Condition is downgraded to Good+ due to rather heavy rubbing to upper & lower extremities from being shelved & reshelved. But the contents are quite clean, binding secure & hinges intact, pages mildly tanned but unmarked. The unclipped DJ is VG+, having been protected under old library mylar, which has been carefully removed (along with the old paper spine call number) & replaced with brand new!
