Orig. published in 1900, this is one of a series of reprints from William Morrow, published in conjunction with Books of Wonder bookstore in New York City, whose co-founder, Peter Glassman, adds an Afterword here. These editions retain the original story & all of the lovely pen-and-ink illustrations by artist W. W. Denslow, as well as bring back the sumptuous full-page, full-color plates that he did for the original--23 in all!This is the First Printing from 1987 (First, thus), an Ex-Lib copy in glossy light yellow cloth over boards brightly decorated & lettered in red & green to front & spine, in 267 pages. Condition is VG: quite clean inside, with usual library stamps & markings to all endpapers & small stamp to bottom outside page edges. Old tape residue to front & rear boards where DJ was attached. The DJ is Near Fine, having been protected under library mylar, which has been replaced with brand new!
