The 12th book in the original Oz series, with decorative full-color boards, endpapers, & internal pen-and-ink illustrations by John R. Neill. Orig. published in 1918, this is one of the "white spine" reprints from c. 1965, with the Neill illustrations & original typesetting restored after a failed attempt at "modernization" (Hanff & Greene p. 74). Octavo (6.5"x 9") in 288 pages is in just Fair condition: pages feel a bit warped, with light soil, & coloring with crayons to rear endpapers & some of the internal illustrations. Pages 27-30 are torn at the bottom & taped; no missing text. Former owner's name & pen scribble to lower-inner corner of front board. Light exterior soiling, bumping to corners & both ends of spine.
