Stunning slipcased edition of Joyce's classic, issued by Book of the Month Club in 1982, with a new Foreword by author ("A Clockwork Orange") Anthony Burgess & sepia-toned illustrations throughout by Susan Stillman. In 680 pages, with a sewn-in blue ribbon page marker, this small quarto (7.25" x 10.25") has ivory linen cloth over quarter blue cloth-covered boards, stamped with gilt lettering & devices to spine. Condition is Near Fine, marred only by foxing to the ivory cloth & a sprinkling across bottom outside edges of text block; one oval smudge to fore edge. Slight musty old-book odor. Else, as clean & crisp as brand new: pages white & unmarked, binding strong & straight, corners crisp. The colorfully decorated slipcase is also Near fine, with just a tad of rubbing, but completely strong & sturdy. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. Sorry: book is too heavy & large for expedited domestic or any international shipping without preapproval of extra postage (at least double per USPS rates).
