Book #2 in the 6-book series for early-20th-century boys "imbued with the go-ahead spirit" wanting to read about boys like themselves having "thrilling & unusual adventures'' in different parts of the world. Here, they visit an uninhabited island in South America & make "an astonishing discovery." Orig. published by Barse & Hopkins in 1916, this is the First Printing from Goldsmith (First, thus). In 246 pages + 1 page ad for other series titles in rear, this 12mo has red cloth-covered boards lettered in black to front & spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages significantly tanned, quite heavily around edges, but completely unmarked save for old gift inscription dated 1931 in pencil to ffep (we always leave these out of respect for those long-ago young readers). Just a hint of rubbing to extremities & corner bumping. The price-clipped DJ is VG-, with light rubbing & small chips at extremities; nicely protected for your collection in new clear mylar cover free! Special: buy any 2 books in this series, take 10% off, 3 or more, take 20% off! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day
